King of Holland, by Louis Marie Autissier,
signed, 1806-1810.

Set in the original pressed gilt brass mount, is signed Autissier along the right edge.

2 3/8 inches (5.5 cm) high.

Louis Marie Autissier (1772-1830), Belgium's greatest miniaturist, served as painter to Louis Napoleon, King of Holland, and Louis XVIII, King of France. Such was his fame that he exhibited in the Salons of Brussels, Gand, Paris, Antwerp, Malines Douai, Lille and Amsterdam. A great master as well as artist, Autissier trained de la Tour, de Fontenay, De Caju, Dujardin and Serec.
